RNSA PORTLAND BRANCH COCKTAIL PARTY 2016
Under bright skies RNSA members and guests attended a brilliantly organised Cocktail Party. Our thanks go out to our guests from the other organisations of Weymouth and Portland for helping us continue to make this one of the highlights of our yearly calendar.
Tremendous thanks to Jacquie Shears(not forgetting Steve) for all her hard work in ensuring that everything was to the highest standard. We all missed you both. We hoped that Team Cocktail(John,Alan,Pat,Peter,Annette and Brendan) did not let you down. This was achieved, as always, by the assistance of WPNSA staff and caterers. Thank you to Peter Allam and staff who provided a great professional service and especially to Lisa,Helen and Connor for their efficient and extremely courteous manner.
We were extremely pleased to have with us our Weymouth and Portland Mayor Christine James.
We also give special note and thanks to the Sea Cadets led by CPO David Louch for performing the Sunset Ceremony. This year our dinghy was kindly provided by the Bart Simpson Group(Thank you) and the young Cadet on attendance with the Ensign had no equipment malfunction.
Our Branch Captain Peter Goss oversaw the event to ensure it was to the levels expected.
After the party many guests sat down to a splendid meal from a multi choice menu and the tables were prepared beautifully with flowers from Annete Goss, name places, menu reminders and all tieing in with the table plan by the door. The Ladies had a lovely prepared bespoke box of chocolates each.
A slide show entertained all guests without being intrusive to our enjoyment of what was a splendid evening.
