PORTLAND RNSA BRANCH COCKTAIL PARTY 2018

RNSA members and guests attended a brilliantly organised Cocktail Party. Our thanks go out to our guests from the other organisations of Weymouth and Portland for helping us continue to make this one of the highlights of our yearly calendar.
Tremendous  thanks to Kaz and Steve Pointon leading Team Cocktail in ensuring that everything was to the highest standard.  This was achieved, as always, by the  assistance of WPNSA staff and caterers. Thank you to Peter Allam and staff who provided a great professional service.

We also give special note and thanks to the Sea Cadets led by CPO David Louch for performing the Sunset Ceremony in horrible conditions. This year we utilised a new Flag Staff which I believe was erected by our Mooring Secretary was organised by Peter Allam and kindly provided by the Bart Simpson Group(Thank you) and the young Cadet on attendance with the Ensign was again faced with a flag malfunction however experience took control and the flag was successfully lowered with everyone maintaining the proper level of etiquette.

Our Branch Captain Peter Goss oversaw the event to ensure it went well.

After the party many guests sat down to a splendid meal from a multi choice menu and the tables were prepared beautifully with place settings and menu reminders and a table plan by the door.

This report has been compiled by B E Moore to assist Kaz and Steve. They may add something later. Regards

Quote of the evening:  John O'Driscoll to Brendan Moore. I gave you my consent form as I thought you were important. My reply. I am important, very important but with no authority.
