Poole 2017: 26/27 to 28/29 MAY BANK HOLIDAY. A SAIL WITH FRAM.

Previous Run Click on link: http://rnsaportlandcruising.weebly.com/poole-16.html
How the programme ran last time was that People would travel on the Friday or the Saturday to Studland Bay. From there we would try to meet up with Portsmouth. Warning the Tide is not favourable wrt time and will mean a PM start.
Sun set 21:05 approx Friday poole. We should get there before it gets dark.
Tides are awkward this year.

We need to be at St Aldhelms on Friday by 17:45 Across Weymouth Bay on Foul spring up 1.5knts.
or Saturday 18:35 leaving 2.5 hrs to get to Studland from St Aldhelms before sun set on the Saturday.

If you get the gate late it will be rough at ST Aldhelms and you will have to clip on and let the Tide carry you through with everything battened down and Hatches closed and lashed. I've been there.
Can go inshore or offshore. Range will be open by 12:30. Off shore is safer if you can't guarantee gate.

WE TRY TO HAVE A SPONSORED MEAL TOGETHER HOWEVER BECAUSE OF THE TIDES THIS WILL BE DIFFICULT UNTIL WE KNOW THE BEST DAY TO TRAVEL.  However the Banks Arms Studland is very good value for money. The Pig on the Beach(PigHotel) Studland is more expensive.

STUDLAND is an easier place to bring Family and Friends.

If Portsmouth don't wish to stay here maybe we can have an on water meet somewhere.

Sorry I cant add more until I know if and what people want to do.

We can do other things as people wish and we can talk when we get there.

Portsmouth prefer a Marina base for the ease of coming ashore. They  used Cobbs quay last year but did not like it and we failed to meet up for one reason or another. So they may use another club like ParkStone. However if Large boats like Stella Ann or Fram come I think we should stay at Studland.
However should any boat wish to go elsewhere later is down to Skipper.
