Event Plan. POOLE 16
0Portland Boats due to set off from moorings around 08:30. Meeting in Dinghy Park WPNSA 07:30

Portsmouth boats two maybe more names unknown.
Catch the flood tide full 6 hrs available to Poole passing Atomic buoy and going south of St Aldhems ledge. Wind against tide need to avoid overfalls
but tide will carry us through. Wind from the east but OK. Monday Strong winds for the North but should stay east of Southampton
Anchor off Studland for night. Meet the Portsmouth Team. Food available at the Banks Arms. Dog friendly.
Sunday make our way to Cobbs Quay under the Poole bridges see time table and contact data below. I have booked our three boats in for possible Saturday and Sunday so we can change our plans.
Heres the rub. It seems that the bridge opening times are designed around a morning and afternoon flow from and to Cobbs Quay.
There appears to be no waiting area on the Poole Harbour Side so you must be on station on time but read on. I have spoken to the bridge operators. They have advised we should be on Station at least 5 minutes before lift but maybe better 10 mins. So it does not matter which direction you are going you should be on station as per the red times shown below. Normally the twin sails will open first in the morning then the Poole Bridge but if no sea bound boat traffic they will open the Poole Bridge. The opening sequence is reversed in the afternoon after 14:30.
VHF: Dual watch on 16 and work on 72.
Cobbs Quay uses Channel 80
Bridges use Channel 12 call sign "Poole Bridge" Bridge Operator TEL No 01202 676531(Unlikely to answer calls during lifting times). They have CCTV but the narrows make make visability restricted.
