HEATWAVE DEMASTING.

Following the seizure of the main halyard pully at the top of the mast it was necessary to demast and thougherly service all standing and running rigging. The VHF Arial had corroded and fell off somewhere . Main concern is the degradation of top fixing point of for stay. This has to be strenghtened. Photos only show the de-masting process. More to follow.  Click on the photos and paddle through.

HEATWAVE LEWMAR 30 WINCH.

This winch seems to have replaced two separate gib sheet winches but is really too big for the boat. It has not been serviced since 1986 when I bought Heatwave. It was full of crud. Basically it unscrews from the top and I used heat treatment and wood block to hammer tap the top free which has a thread insert fitted. Many more examples on you tube for winch servicing.
