RNSA AGM 21 FEBRUARY 2015 PICTURE GALLERY
A personal recollection of my visit to the magnificent Britannia Naval College, Dartmouth.
After a long journey from Portland this was my chance to visit the College. I hope you will enjoy the pictures, most of which required a lot of enhancement to make them worthy of mounting on this site. Click on first thumbnail and use Paddles to scroll through or film strip at base. Images can be downloaded from the enlargements by mouse over(Centre, about third down. Arrival.
AGM Meeting
Our Commodore kicks off the meeting with a rallying call to the troops that we have to fight for our future. Each of the other Officers in turn outlined the work for 2015 to prepare our battle plans.
A colourful member speaks up for the over 80's section to see if costs can be reduced. I was sitting at the desk next to Terry Corner. |
Prize Giving.
Dinner |
This year prize giving took place in one of the great halls of the College. Our Commodore doing the honours to those achievers of the class of 2014. I wouldnt say I'm biased being a Portland member but felt Bob and Debbie Tuckwood deserved some prominence for their efforts in being awarded the Paul Hammond Cup. Sadly I do not know what the remaining awards are or the people who gained them but from the brief info I heard they have deserved them and are honoured for promoting RNSA in what they have achieved. Bravo Zulu to you all.
And so finally to Dinner. The College did a first class presentation of Dinner and I say a great vote of thanks to the staff who waited on us. Now I have a suspicion that J K Rowling may have been inspired by this place when she wrote about the many assemblies that took place at Hogwarts. In our case Dumbledore is just left of centre of the main entrance. Harry may be here. Look for some one with glasses. As for Hagrid. Who do you think is up in the Gallery taking these pictures. What is the hand. Well its not the hand of God or Marradonna's. It was actually being used as a timer to see how long the speaches were. I know who owns it but thats my secret. |
